Some love stories unfold in the most unexpected ways—Ashley and Peter’s was one of them. Ashley is my insanley talented tattoo artist who works at The Huntsman in Buffalo, which just goes to show you never know where you’re going to meet your people! When she asked me to photograph her wedding, I knew it was going to be something special.

Their day started with a first look at the Richardson Hotel, an architectural gem that added the perfect mix of history and character to the moment. Seeing each other for the first time in such a stunning setting made for an unforgettable start to their Buffalo wedding.

They tied the knot at the Burchfield Penney Art Center, a space as creative and unique as they are. With the gallery walls surrounding them, their ceremony was intimate, filled with the kind of emotion that reminds you why weddings matter in the first place. It wasn’t about putting on a show—it was about them, their people, and the love they’ve built together.

After the ceremony, we headed to the AKG Art Museum for their formal portraits. The mix of architecture and art made the perfect backdrop, effortlessly blending with their style. If you’re looking for the best wedding photo locations in Buffalo, the AKG and Burchfield Penney Art Center offer incredible backdrops that make your portraits stand out.

Ashley and Peter’s wedding was proof that your day should reflect who you are. Whether it’s an art gallery, a mountain, or your own backyard, the best weddings are the ones where you stay true to what feels right.
