On August 8th, I had the absolute honor of photographing Kai and Ryan’s wedding at Avanti Mansion in Buffalo, New York, a date that was already special because it also happened to be Kai’s birthday! This wedding wasn’t just a celebration of marriage — it was a vibrant, personal love story told through every detail.

Kai and Ryan are both non-binary, and as a Buffalo wedding photographer who is passionate about creating safe and inclusive spaces, it means so much to me when couples feel celebrated exactly as they are. If you’re looking for an LGBTQ+ friendly wedding photographer in Buffalo, know that your love will always be honored here.
The two first met at a line dancing bar — the start of a story that would include years of adventures together, including their beloved weekly Dungeons & Dragons nights with friends. Naturally, their D&D wedding was sprinkled with creative touches from the game, like rolling dice to see who would read their vows first.

Ryan surprised Kai by gifting them a rose every hour as a reminder to pause, breathe, and truly take in the day. Kai returned the gesture with a choreographed flash mob that had Ryan…and the entire wedding, grinning from ear to ear!
The Avanti Mansion provided the perfect backdrop, with lush greenery for portraits and beautiful spaces for celebrating with friends and family. The evening ended on a lively dance floor, filled with laughter, joy, and the kind of high-energy vibes that make a wedding unforgettable.
If you’re planning a wedding in Buffalo, Western New York, or beyond — whether at Avanti Mansion, another gorgeous venue, or even a backyard that means something special to you — I’d love to capture it. Whether your vision is romantic, quirky, fandom-inspired, or completely unique, your story deserves to be documented with care.
